There are several differences between a PDA and a smartphone although they do share a lot of the same qualities. The first thing that came out was the PDA and it was an upgrade for busy people who just used organizers and notebooks. They just put everything into their PDA device and the meetings and alarms would remind them of the places and events they needed to be at. Then, the smartphone came out which was a mobile phone and a PDA in one. It kept your schedule together with the reminders and event alarms and it also has the phone into it. Now, instead of having a PDA and a phone, you can have two in one.

PDAs simplify schedules, contacts, and note taking. Smarphones can do all of this while adding a mobile phone’s features. They are able to sync to a computer, supports email, and they have connectivity options. Smartphones normally have a full keypad and a touchscreen to make handling it much easier. They need to support third party programs. These smartphones are replacing PDAs left and right because they are so much more efficient and are very new age. They are very easy to handle.

It is very apparent which technology is better. There are many differences but really, all this is, is the smartphone taking over the PDA because it does everything a PDA does but much more. It is very clear why everyone fell in love with the PDA. It was new and avoided the awkward notebooks being carried around to take notes and try to keep track of your life. The PDA organized all of that. But, ever since the integration of the smartphone, the PDA is a thing of the past. It is much more new and organized and it is much more than just an organizer and a mobile phone.
